FATA Aluminium Acquired by FATA Automation

Will combine operations at one site

Casting equipment manufacturer FATA Aluminium Inc. has been acquired by FATA Automation Inc., according to a release. The value of the transaction was not announced.

FATA Aluminium designs and manufactures casting machinery, automated casting carousels, sand regeneration systems, and aluminum foundry equipment. It will continue to operate with the same name.

FATA Automation designs and manufactures material handling systems, including automated guided vehicles (AGV), automated electrified monorail systems (EMS), automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), automated parking systems, skid conveyor systems, skillet conveyor systems, pallet conveyor systems, roller conveyor systems, cargo handling, power-and-free chain conveyors and belt conveyor systems.

“We have had a long relationship with FATA Automation,” stated Giorgio Donini, FATA Aluminum’s general manager. “The current acquisition solidifies our position and provides the direction and support required to continue as a leader in the casting equipment marketplace.”

Donini said the acquisition, and relocation of the company from Farmington Hills, MI, to Sterling Heights MI, will excellent growth opportunities for both companies and achieve “significant cost synergies in general and administrative expenses.”

He added that FATA Aluminium benefits from FATA Automation’s capabilities, increasing its capacity to reach new customers, expand product offerings, and support current clients and equipment.
