Hayes Lemmerz Names V.P. for Steel Wheel Operations

Hayes Lemmerz International Inc. has appointed John Stephenson to be the vice president of its International Wheel Group’s Steel Wheel operations. Stephenson will be responsible for the steel wheel businesses with operations in Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, and India, and he’ll report to International Wheel Group president Fred Bentley.

Hayes Lemmerz has 39 operations worldwide and is a leading supplier of automotive and commercial highway wheels, brakes, powertrain, suspension, structural, and other lightweight components.

Prior to joining Hayes Lemmerz, Stephenson was director of North Europe Operations for Textron Fastening Systems, and previous to that he was plant manager at APW Electronics, in Bremen, Germany. He also held various roles in operations and engineering at Valeo Security Systems in the U.K. and Germany. And,. Stephenson was a design engineer at Vickers Defense Systems in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.

Stephenson holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne Polytechnic, and a M.S. in Automotive Product Engineering from Cranfield University England.
