TK-Waupaca Installs New Management Team

Adams, Gigante take over posts from Thoe

Wisconsin-based ThyssenKrupp Waupaca Foundry has named a new management team to take over roles held by president and CEO Gary L. Thoe.

TK-Waupaca operates six gray- and ductile-iron foundries and two aluminum foundries. It is a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp Budd Cos., Troy, MI.

Thoe will remain as chairman of the board at Waupaca, though he relinquished his executive roles on October 1 after 49 years with the Waupaca organization. He joining the foundry as a molder in 1955, ultimately becoming president and CEO in 1988.

David G. Adams has been named chief executive officer of TK-Waupaca. With 32 years of experience in the transportation industry, Adams has been with ZF Industries for the past 11 years, most recently as v.p of business development for ZF North America. ZF Industries supplies automotive drivetrain components, where he managed the company’s North American transmission activities during the past decade.

Gary Gigante is the company’s new president and chief operating officer. He’s been with the organization since 1981, most recently as vice president of manufacturing with responsibility for TK-Waupaca’s three ductile iron foundries in Marinette, WI, Tell City, IN, and Etowah, TN.

“Our new management team will continue to be focused on the customer,” said Gary Thoe. “It will develop new strategies that are lean, flexible and cost effective for today’s challenging business environment. David and Gary will also be supported by ThyssenKrupp Waupaca’s very capable workforce.”
