The NILFISK Industrial Vacuum Division expanded its line of combustible dust vacuums with the new Nilfisk CFM 118/50EXP for collecting dry dust and debris that often accumulates on floors and overhead areas. It’s a single-phase, electric vacuum cleaner that is CSA-certified explosion-proof / dust ignition-proof for use in Class I, Group D, and Class II, Groups E, F, and G environments.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) established a combustible dust National Emphasis Program (NEP) in 2008, presenting guidelines for manufacturers to control combustible dust in their operations. The agency recommends that facilities adopt a comprehensive maintenance program that includes a properly equipped industrial vacuum cleaner to minimize dust accumulation.
The Nilfisk CFM 118/50EXP is designed to maintain the highest level of operational safety, completely grounded, built of non-sparking 304 stainless steel, and equipped with conductive hose and accessories to eliminate percussion arcing and static charge. It has a 13.2-gallon collection container that is easy to remove, lift, and empty; an anti-static filter with large surface area that guarantees high filtration efficiency, and prevents premature clogging; and a downstream HEPA filter to capture 99.97% of debris, down to and including 0.3 microns (an optional upstream HEPA/ULPA filtration is available, too.)
The developer said the launch of its CFM 118/50 EXP enhances its current explosion-proof vacuum offerings, which include a smaller, dry-only unit and a wet/dry unit. It also offers a line of pneumatic vacuums for hazardous locations vacuums.
