The Shur-Kut has layers of self-sharpening grains that continually produce fresh cutting points to cut through hard material easily, reducing friction and prolonging performance life.

SUPERIOR ABRASIVES LLC — a manufacturer of abrasive tools for surface finishing — introduced the SHUR-KUT® coated cartridge roll with a specially wrapped design that produces new layers for fresh cutting action throughout its service life as the surface layers of a workpiece are worn away. The rolls are recommended for shaping, porting, finishing, or polishing hard to reach areas. Cotton cloth acts as a cushion for polishing finer grits. Many diameters are available to match or enlarge existing contours, while straight or tapered designs are also available for through holes or inside corner grinding.

Ceramic cartridge rolls feature self-sharpening grains that continually produce fresh cutting points, which cut through stainless and alloy steels easily. Self-sharpening grains also reduce friction and prolong cut rates.

Additional grinding aid further reduces heat for extended wear and reduced downtime. Multiple surface layers wear away to expose fresh abrasive material, further extending service life.

Aluminum-oxide straight cartridge rolls feature a general-purpose cutting action that wears evenly and uniformly, producing a consistent cut on ferrous and nonferrous metals. For use in straight holes or cylinders or around contoured parts, they remove or shape parts quickly, deburr stamped parts, and allow access to intricate areas or small holes.

Also available is a tapered design, to provide more access and pointed control in concave areas or inside corners. These allow users to grind and follow acute seams and welds. Ideal for removing or smoothing inside corner welds, porting and shaping concave areas, and navigating intricate cast parts.

SHUR-KUT® cartridge rolls are available in a variety of useful sizes from 3/16- to 1-in. diameter, up to 2-in. long, with multiple pilot-hole diameters and a full range of grits from 36 to 320.
