There is not a single for metalcasters to make plans to attend the GIFA 2019 event in June — there are innumerable reasons. A world full of reasons. The quadrennial foundry technology trade show, scheduled for June 25-29 in Düsseldorf, Germany, will draw together metalcasters and metalcasting experts from all over the world for the preeminent industry event.
GIFA 2019 will be 14th International Foundry Trade Fair with Technical Forum, and set to host more than 900 exhibitors from around the world, including all of the most notable suppliers of melting, molding, coremaking, sand treatment, and vibratory and finishing machinery for foundries and diecasters.
A new dimension of the GIFA 2019 program will be a exhibition of Additive Manufacturing processes. “Whether you work in pattern, die- or coremaking or direct metal printing, additive manufacturing provides foundries and their suppliers with great potential for business growth. We want our special show to provide a platform to unlock this potential,” explained Gerrit Nawracala, deputy director for Metals and Flow Technology at Messe Düsseldorf.
GIFA is one of four events staged simultaneously at Messe Düsseldorf, each one focusing on a different aspect of industrial and scientific metallurgy. While GIFA is devoted to the technological and professional concerns of foundries and diecasters, METEC gives a similar forum to the primary steel industry, and THERMPROCESS is devoted to the interests of industrial thermal processing.
The final dimension of the GMTN portfolio is NEWCAST, the 5th International Trade Fair for Castings with Technical Forum. It is an exhibition and conference dedicated to casting product design, for major series manufacturing programs as well as more specialized or customized production programs. has developed into an internationally important trade fair.
“The production of cast parts has increased on an international scale over the last decade and this is reflected at NEWCAST,” according to Caroline Schmidt, junior project manager for NEWCAST at Messe Düsseldorf. In 2019, over 400 exhibitors are scheduled to showcase their products and/or designs, including Bosch Rexroth AG, GF Casting Solutions AG, GOM GmbH, Kimura Foundry Co. Ltd., Kutes Metal Inc., and Finoba Automotive GmbH. High levels of participation are expected by casting suppliers from China, India, and Turkey, too.
There is no single reason for metalcasters to attend the weeklong program in June, but there is a world of new opportunities for metalcasters who engage the new technologies shaping their industry, and all of these will be on the program for GIFA, NEWCAST, and their parallel events.
