Dixon Valve Opens Manufacturing, Distribution Center in Houston

Feb. 26, 2008
Plant produces couplings and other products for oil/gas drilling

Dixon Valve recently opened a new manufacturing and warehouse center in Houston. The 70,000-ft2 plant replaces an older one nearby, and will manufacture Holedall fittings and related products, and distribute Dixon products throughout Texas, the Gulf Coast, and the Southwestern states.

Dixon Valve produces and supplies hose fittings and accessories for various markets, including petroleum, mining, construction, and processing.

"We are able to increase the number of orders shipped same-day," states Bob Grace, v.p.-distribution. The plant also has an improved product training center where it will present technical and sales training courses for distributors and customers, covering its hose assembly, couplings and fittings product lines.

The Houston plant will manufacture Dixon Valve’s Holedall fittings, which had been produced at a plant in Houma, LA. The Holedall product line includes couplings, ferrules, and swage stems targeted to oil and gas drilling operations.

"Having the manufacturing facility located in the same general area as the plating and heat-treating operations is more operationally efficient," according to Wayne Spurrier, v.p. and general manager of Dixon Boss, the division that manufactures and distributes air fittings, cam and groove, clamps, oil fittings, steam fittings, swivels, valves, and water fittings.

Dixon has 12 company-owned, regional distributions centers from coast to coast.

Established in 1915, Dixon Valve is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of hose fittings and accessories. The company serves a wide variety of markets - from petroleum and mining to construction and processing. It offers the industry's most comprehensive product line available from a single source.
