Intermet Liquidation Underway
Two Intermet Ferrous Group foundries in Virginia — the Archer Creek Foundry in Lynchburg and the New River Foundry in Radford — are marked for shutdown, according to local reports. Additionally, two nonferrous diecasting operations — in Monroe City and Palmyra, MO — reportedly have been sold to Continental Castings L.L.C., for an undisclosed price. Read more
OSHA Cites New Hampshire Foundry
OSHA states that Franklin Non-Ferrous Foundry Inc. faces a total of $254,000 in fines for 17 alleged willful and serious violations found during comprehensive OSHA inspections that began in April of this year. Read more
Steel Foundry Earns ABS Certification
Southern Cast Products Inc., a steel jobbing foundry in Meridian, MS, has been added to the American Bureau of Shipping’s Approved List of casting facilities. Read more
