ASTECH INC. recently announced a new line of spun-bond polyester cartridges suitable for the demanding air-filtration applications of foundry operations. Characterized by high burst strength, these spunbound filters are especially well suited for dust streams that contain moist fumes, heat, chemicals, and abrasive particulate.

Also, the filters are durable enough to withstand the conditions of metalcasting operations, including temperature ratings up to 200°F.  They are washable and reusable, making them an ideal longer lasting filter.

Astech manufactures high-performance blast replacement parts for metalcasting, and also operates a steel-jobbing foundry that specializes at producing castings for heat-, wear-, and corrosion-resistance.  In addition to blast parts, Astech offers a complete line of foundry filters designed to lower energy costs and increase baghouse efficiency.

The filters are produced in 100% non-woven polyester material, and are washable and reusable, as well as abrasion- and chemical-resistant. The supplier notes the filters have efficiency ratings up to 99.9%

“Our spun-bound filters are easily installed and last longer versus paper and felt media,” according to Astech Inc. president Alan Bukach. “Our expertise as a foundry puts us in an ideal testing environment. We were so pleased with the results, that we added it to our line.”
