June 7, 2007 — General Kinematics Corp. has introduced a new line of rotary equipment for ductile iron foundries. The DUCTA-SERIES includes the DUCTA-SPRUE rotary sprue drum;' the DUCTA-SCREEN rotary shakeout; and the DUCTA-CLEAN rotary media drum. The design of these drums involves a single-layer wear plate shell to extend service life, and a patent-pending modular shell designed to be replaced easily and affordably. Sand and media exiting the drum are collected with GK's SYNCRO-COIL vibratory technology.
Crystal Lake, IL-based General Kinematics designs and builds vibratory material-handling and processing equipment, and holds over 200 worldwide patents for its equipment designs and applications.
The company also introduced two new products in its VIBRA-SERIES line of vibratory drums for foundries. The VIBRA-DRUM SR is a continuous-flow mill for sand reclamation/attrition, to reclaim sand and cores; and the VIBRA-CLEAN is a vibratory media drum that cleans fragile castings with care.
"Everyone at GK is very excited to be able to provide our customers with these new solutions to solve their difficult process problems" states Tom Musschoot, director of R&D / Marketing. "It is through close partnerships with our customers that we can work with them to design and develop solutions to better meet their needs, as well as help enhance the metal casting industry."
