Toyota to Increase Four-Cylinder Engine Output in North America
Toyota Motor Manufacturing plans to expand production at its plant in Huntsville, AL, to include four-cylinder engines, with the new capacity to be in operation by summer 2011. Read more
Nemak, Saginaw Recalling Workers
Nemak’s Windsor Aluminum plant will resume production this week of General Motors Corp. 3.6-liter engine blocks, according to local news reports. The Ontario metalcasting plant halted its output of products for GM in January of this year, as a result of the automaker cutting production. Read more
Grede to Close Foundries in Michigan, Kansas
A gray iron foundry in Vassar, MI and a ductile iron operation in Wichita, KS, will be close “in order to realign capacity and better position the company for profitability in a post recession worldwide economy,” according to a statement by chairman Richard Koenings. Read more
