Technical Development: New diecasting alloy

April 4, 2006
Cost Savings, Environmental Impact Recommend New Diecasting Alloy

Diecasting is often considered the most economical approach to high-volume manufacturing of cast parts. Recent technological progress has resulted in levels of product quality that previously were possible only with significantly more expensive forged parts. Ranging from mechanical properties to options in further processing of the products (such as suitability for welding), these recent advances have caught the attention of many users and present diecasters with challenges that often can only be mastered through cooperation with alloy manufacturers. They, too, are often quite active in research and development.
