Modern Equipment Co., Sttek Expand License Agreement

June 2, 2010
Modern will produce tower furnaces, large holding furnaces for North America

Modern Equipment Co. Inc. and Støtek Danmark ApS report that the two companies recently completed a new license agreement that allows Modern Equipment to manufacture the range of Støtek tower furnaces and large holding furnaces for the North American market.

Port Washington, WI-based Modern Equipment is a subsidiary of ALCO Industries that manufactures the Jet Melter range of tower furnaces as well as a comprehensive range of pouring ladles.

Støtek Danmark ApS is a Danish designer and manufacturer of electric-resistance and gas/oil-fueled furnaces for melting, holding, and dosing aluminum. Modern Equipment explains that the new agreement extends a strategic alliance the companies established in 2009, by which each company markets the other’s products.

Støtek retains the right to sell its complete product range through its joint venture Støtek Inc., Pewaukee, WI.

“We are confident of Modern’s ability to produce the Støtek products for this market, and look forward to continuing our mutually beneficial relationship,” stated Støtek Inc. president Pat Brown.

Don Bystricky, manager of Modern Equipment’s Aluminum Melting business, added: “In a global market, alliances like these, with strong international market players, provide both companies better access to technology and best practices. Being able to offer customers the best solution to their requirements with this broad product range provides us with a real advantage in the market place. We are happy to have found such a good partner as Støtek.”
