Pace Industries is closing two aluminum diecasting plants in Muskegon, MI, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing posted on February 24. The closure is scheduled for April 25, 2026 affecting 145 workers in total, both hourly and salaried employees.

The federal WARN Act regulations require employers to provide notice at least 60 days in advance of high volume layoffs or plant closures. According to the WARN information provided to the state, the reason for the closures is a company restructuring.

The two plants are described as high-volume diecasting operations, with machining and finishing capabilities too, to supply automotive and recreational vehicle manufacturing.

A third Pace Industries plant in Muskegon is not noted in the filing. That operation has rotary and reverberatory furnaces for processing secondary aluminum from scrap, turnings, and furnace byproducts.

Pace Industries is recognized as the largest North American diecasting manufacturer with 18 locations in the U.S. and Mexico, manufacturing aluminum, zinc, and magnesium castings.

In 2015, Pace merged with Muskegon-based Port City Diecasting, whose five plants became a separate operating unit of the larger firm.
