Plibrico Company reported it completed its takeover of Atlantic Fire Brick & Supply, a Jacksonville, FL-based refractory distributor and services provider serving industrial customers in the Southeastern U.S.

The terms of the acquisition have not been announced. “This combination is centered on delivering greater value to customers,” according to president and CEO John Paul Surdo, in a statement.

Plibrico, headquartered in Northbrook, IL, supplies aluminosilicate and high-alumina monolithic refractories for melting and processing aluminum and steel; as well as mineral processing, waste processing, pollution control, power generation, and other thermal processes.

Atlantic Firebrick & Supply specializes in refractory installation, including emergency repair service and ongoing preventive maintenance, for co-generation, marine boilers, power boilers, package boilers, incinerators, chip and saw, melting furnaces, tanks, cyclones, lime kilns, and cement kilns.

The buyer stated the acquisition strengthens Plibrico’s manufacturing scale, refractory technology portfolio, and technical resources. It will operate as “Atlantic Fire Brick & Supply, A Plibrico Company.”

“Atlantic Fire Brick & Supply has earned the trust of customers through responsive support and strong partnerships,” Surdo stated. “By reinforcing that foundation with Plibrico’s technical depth and expanded product capabilities, customers across the Southeast are better supported in solving complex refractory challenges and improving performance.”
