Accuride to Expand Aluminum Wheel Operations

Nov. 22, 2010
Plants in Pennsylvania, Monterrey due for new machining, finishing equipment

Accuride Corp. is planning a $13-million expansion of its aluminum wheel plants in Erie, PA, and Monterrey, Mexico, involving more machining and polishing equipment for the finished products there.

The supplier of commercial vehicle components and systems did not specify the project schedule for the Pennsylvania plant, but it said the new systems would be installed at Monterrey by the end of the third quarter of 2011.

“Accuride’s strategic focus on further developing our core product offering and market penetration of these products is resulting in a steadily increasing global demand for our aluminum wheels,” stated chairman, president, and CEO Bill Lasky. “The addition of aluminum wheel production capability at our Monterrey wheel facility will allow us to meet the increasing product demands of our customer base both inside and outside the NAFTA region.”

Accuride manufactures commercial vehicle components, including wheels, wheel-end components and assemblies, truck body and chassis parts, seating assemblies and other commercial vehicle components. Its products are marketed under numerous brand names, including Accuride, Gunite, Imperial, Bostrom, Fabco, Brillion, and Highway Original.
