Flow Science Inc. Expands in Central Europe

June 5, 2012
Partnership extends distribution network in Germany

Flow Science Inc. is forming a new European subsidiary as an extension of its distribution network. Flow Science Deutschland GmbH will be a partnership with some of the personnel of the company’s former distributor, CFD Consultants GmbH, and will represent the FLOW-3D product line in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, with sales and product support, as well as general consulting services in computational fluid dynamics (CFD.)

New Mexico-based Flow Science Inc. develops transient, free-surface CFD modeling software for industrial and scientific applications. Metalcasting operations are among its primary customer groups.

“We are excited to step up our presence and relationship in Germany, which has been the engine of growth in Europe. The formation of Flow Science Deutschland marks another important milestone in the growth of both Flow Science and FLOW-3D,” stated the company’s president Thomas Jensen.

Frieder Semler will be the managing director of Flow Science Deutschland. He has worked with Flow Science and the FLOW-3D products since CFD Consultants first began representing them in 1999. Semler will be joined by Dr. Ing. Matthias Todte, a noted expert in casting simulation, and Rolf Krack, who is described as “perhaps the most experienced user in the area of high-pressure diecasting.”

"The formation of this joint venture is a logical consequence of the productive, and very pleasant, cooperation between the parties involved and will further improve the services to our customers and the reception of their wishes," according to Semler, managing director of Flow Science Deutschland.
