Atlas Will Appeal Citations Following Deadly Explosion Ross Aluminum Casting Expands Permanent-Mold Capacity Wescast Opts for Plexus MES
Weatherly Casting & Machine Co. in Weatherly, PA, recently purchased a Carrier Vibrating Equipment Vertical Shakeout and Sand Conveying System for their No-Bake flask cleaning line. The vertical shakeout has a working area of 14' x 14' and includes heavy-duty, abrasion-resistant decks and rider bars. The system also incorporates a steep inclined "V" trough and flat-deck conveyor. Both conveyors include heavy-duty drives and bolt-down hoods for a cleaner environment. Wescast Industries Inc. has contracted Plexus Systems to implement its manufacturing enterprise software for the producer’s global operations. Plexus indicates that implementation will begin at Wescast’s Asian business unit in Wuhan, China, and at one unidentified plant in Ontario. Read more
Indian Group Buys Matrix Metals
The Sanmar Group has acquired Matrix Metals L.L.C. from Jeffries Capital Partners. Matrix Metals operates three steel foundries: Keokuk Steel Castings in Keokuk, IA; Matrix Metals, in Richmond, TX; and Acerlan S.A, in San Juan del Rio, Mexico. Read more
