Leggett & Platt earned $300 million, along with a subordinated note and preferred stock, from the sale of its aluminum diecasting operations. The organization — Pace Industries — will remain headquartered in Fayetteville, AR. It has plants in eight other states, and in Mexico. Read more
Equity Group Buys Kurdziel Industries
Private-equity group Monomoy Capital Partners L.P. has bought Muskegon, MI-based Kurdziel Industries Inc., for an unreported price. The producer of gray and ductile iron castings will be renamed Carlton Creek Ironworks Inc. Read more
Sd-Chemie Buys More Capacity for Foundry Chemical Products
Sd-Chemie AG has agreed to buy a chemical plant in Hart, Bavaria, that manufactures products for metalcasting. Most of the plant’s products are specialty chemicals for iron foundries, specifically automotive castings, according to a release. Read more
Metaltek Intl. Buys British Foundry
MetalTek International, a foundry holding company based in Waukesha, WI, reports it acquired Meighs Castings Ltd., an English foundry serving defense industries and other markets in need of casting for “demanding, highly corrosive applications.” Read more
