June 28, 2006 -- Citation Corp.’s Butler (IN) Division has earned the Delphi Energy and Chassis Systems division’s 2006 Best Supplier award, the second year in a row it has been so recognized.
The Best Supplier Award is presented to Delphi suppliers who provide products or services “with an unquestioned commitment to customer service.” Delphi described Citation as “very responsive to our needs, proactively communicating issues as well as having a continuous improvement focus.”
The Butler plant also the recipient of Delphi Corp.’s 2006 Pinnacle Award. This award is recognizes Delphi suppliers who meet or exceed strict supplier performance criteria, including delivery, quality improvement, cost reduction, and supplier-specific goals..
Citation-Butler supplies permanent molded aluminum cast knuckles to Delphi Energy and Chassis Systems’ Saginaw, MI, plant as components of rear suspension structures Delphi produces for mid-size General Motors automobiles. It’s a “safety critical” casting that Butler has been producing since 2002 using a state-of-the-art process.
According to Citation-Butler general manager Chris Lautzenhiser, “Citation has worked extremely hard to meet and exceed customer expectations for quality, cost and delivery. Recognition by our customers is the highest indicator that we are building excellence into our products and processes.”
Citation-Butler is an operating division of Birmingham, AL-based Citation Corp., which produces cast, forged, and machined components for the automotive, heavy truck, construction, aerospace, agricultural, and commercial industries. In addition to the cast components it supplies to Delphi, Citation-Butler supplies customers that include Enterprise Automotive and TRW with differential brackets, lower control arms, and rocker arms.
