Mabry Castings has added a new, automated Hunter 20 matchplate molding machine to its Beaumont, TX, operation. The ductile and gray iron foundry already operates two matchplate molding lines, a similar Hunter 20 machine and a Hunter 32, as well as a no-bake molding line.
Mabry Castings says the new Hunter machine will allow it to double its output of ductile iron castings ranging from 1 to 40 lbs. Its products range in weight from 1 to 3,800 lbs. in all classes of ductile and gray iron, including the “stronger” gray iron classes, 40 and 50.
Ductile iron castings are offered in the standard and heat-treated classes (e.g., 60-40-18, 100-70-03, as cast), and others as specified. Mabry offers various “value added” services, including heat treating/stress relieving, painting, and machining.
Mabry reports that the recent expansion of its green-sand molding department and pouring capabilities, and its adoption of lean manufacturing principles, have helped it to reduce delivery lead times by as much as 40%.
The company is a holding of the Advanced Metals Group L.L.C. Its products include valve bodies and pump housings, actuators, cable drums, an off-highway automotive components. Mabry’s customers represent a range of markets, including: oil and gas, waterworks, agriculture, marine, automotive aftermarket, construction and equipment, machine tool, mining, and various others. Specific types of parts include valve bodies and pump housings, actuators, cable drums, and off highway automotive.
