Sintercast Ltd. reports a new order for its compact graphite-iron process technology from Dashiang Precision Co., Ltd., a Chinese unit of Taiwan’s Taiwanese Mei Ta Industrial Group. It will become the first iron foundry in China to enter into a technology supply agreement with the Swedish process control company for series production of CGI.
“The SinterCast-CGI capability will enable Mei Ta, the Chinese market leader for the production and export of passenger vehicle exhaust manifolds and turbocharger housings, to extend its current production portfolio and to become the first Chinese foundry to supply high quality CGI components to the global automotive industry,” Sintercast states.
Mei Ta Group currently exports exhaust manifolds, turbocharger housings and other components to OEMs and Tier I suppliers in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America.
Dr S. Dawson, president and CEO of SinterCast said: "The System 2000 installation at Dashiang is the first result of our campaign to associate the SinterCast brand name with high quality CGI in China, and marks the first result of our local collaboration with Ashland Casting Solutions to introduce the SinterCast technology to the Chinese market. With an initial value in excess of 3 MSEK, and the potential for additional installations as the domestic and export CGI markets evolve, the highly respected Mei Ta group provides an important first CGI production reference for SinterCast in China."
