Automotive Mag Diecaster Files for Reorganization
Meridian Technologies Inc. agreed with lenders on a restructuring plan, and filed for creditor protection. A new company is being formed, with a new capital structure and “significantly lower debt burden,” Meridan stated in a release. Read more

Huron Castings Plans No-Bake Operation
A wholly owned subsidiary, Blue Diamond Steel Casting L.L.C., will produce larger castings than those produced at Huron’s shell molding foundry. Read more

Ashland Casting Solutions Merging into Global JV
Ashland Casting Solutions is due to be combined into a global enterprise with the foundry-related businesses of Sd-Chemie AG and the businesses of the two partners’ current joint venture, Ashland-Sdchemie-Kernfest GmbH (ASK). Read more

EPA, Leed Foundry Settle Hazardous Waste Charge
EPA’s Environmental Appeals Board ruled that Leed’s gray iron baghouse dust is subject to federal hazardous waste regulations, a decision the agency calls “precedent setting.” Read more
