| Grede Foundries Files for Bankruptcy
Grede Foundries Inc. has declared bankruptcy and is offering itself for sale. The decision follows many months of downsizing by the foundry group, and Grede chairman Richard Koenings cited the impact of the recession on the company and its customers, particularly those in the automotive industry. | FATA Aluminum Grants Piston-Casting License
Michigan-based FATA Aluminum has issued a license for its piston casting technology to VF Process S.r.l., of Turin Italy. VF Process will be the exclusive worldwide licensee for the FATA Aluminum piston casting technology, except in North and South America, which remain the domain of FATA Aluminum’s Sterling Heights, MI, headquarters. | DISA/Wheelabrator Combo Known Now as "Norican"
The merger of DISA Group and the Wheelabrator Group is now complete, and the new company has named itself the Norican Group. It traces the name to Norican steel, a material produced in Noricum, an ancient Celtic Kingdom, and widely used in the Roman Empire. Read more
