Citation Corp. reports it has earned a contract worth $100 million to supply auto parts producer Metaldyne with cast-iron control arms and knuckle assemblies. Metaldyne will use the structures to fulfill its supply contracts with various global manufacturers of trucks and sport-utility vehicles.
The length of the contract has not been revealed.
Metaldyne, a division of Asahi Tec Corp., has had an expanding supplier relationship with Citation in recent years, and now represents one of the foundry group’s largest customers, by volume. Citation also supplies Metaldyne with engine, powertrain, and other chassis components.
The control arms and knuckle assemblies will be produced by Citation at its Lufkin, TX, plant, beginning this quarter, and will be delivered to Metaldyne's plants in New Castle, IN, and Greensboro, NC.
“We are excited Metaldyne has expanded its relationship with Citation and given us the opportunity to continue to provide them quality casting products,” stated Citation COO Cary Wood. “This contract demonstrates Citation’s success at realigning its business strategy to focus on core competencies and supports the long-term growth objectives identified for the Lufkin location.”
