This webinar will review the Metal Matrix Composites project conducted by M Cubed Technologies and the Non-Ferrous Founders' Society. The project was designed to review 20%, 30% and 55% loaded aluminum ceramic metal matrix composite (MMC) materials. The aim of the research was to provide analysis of different classes of aluminum MMC materials with respect to density, specific stiffness, abrasion resistance, and the coefficient of thermal expansion. This data provides a baseline allowing design engineers to consider these materials as alternatives to traditional alloys for applications such as thermal management devices.
