Brokk 400D, heavy duty and productive Brokk 60, redesigned for speed and power

BROKK AB, manufacturers of remote-controlled demolition machines, is introducing two machines to its product line, the Brokk 400D (diesel) and Brokk 60.

Brokk 400D — Brokk developed the diesel-powered Brokk 400D to incorporate all the benefits of the Brokk 330D it replaces in a heavier-duty machine. It is faster and more durable for applications where electricity is difficult to access, including metal processing.  The Brokk 400D delivers a 60-percent increase in transport speed over the Brokk 330D, and it boosts productivity with its new control system. The system allows the operator to control the machine with quick, precise movements for accurate demolition and other complex tasks.

The new Brokk 400D has a slightly bigger envelope than the Brokk 330D, weighs approximately 2,200 lb more, and can reach nearly 23 ft horizontally. With a total weight of 12,125 lb, it can handle heavier attachments like the hard-hitting SB 552 breaker. It also works well with attachments like crushers, grapples, drills and scabblers that are used with its sibling machine, the electric-powered Brokk 400.

The unit has better stability and durability with its larger undercarriage and sturdier steel hood, and a powerful new engine.

Brokk 60 — The Brokk 50 has been redesigned as the Brokk 60 to make it faster and more powerful while keeping it compact and easy to maneuver.  Just 34.4 inches tall, 2.75 inches lower than its predecessor, the Brokk 60 is the smallest remote-controlled demolition machine in the world. The unit’s small size –only 1,100 lb – makes it well suited for applications where space is limited.

The Brokk 60 also increases productivity with more breaking force, faster movements and a new control system. Brokk incorporated major improvements to the control system that enhance the unit’s reliability, create smoother operation and allow for continuous, accurate temperature and pressure monitoring.

Improvements to the hydraulic system, which increased the unit’s flow rate from 4.8 to 5.8 gallons per minute, allow the Brokk 60 to perform faster while delivering 25 percent more power.

“We have incorporated several features that were previously found only on our bigger machines,” according to Martin Krupicka, CEO of Brokk AB, “and they have proven very valuable for everyday, reliable performance and operation.”

In addition to its powerful system features, Brokk improved the unit’s durability with the addition of a sturdy steel cover and a covered slewing table, both of which protect internal components from debris. Brokk also incorporated long-lasting, efficient LED lights to provide better illumination to the work area.

The Brokk 60 maintains a horizontal reach of 8.2 feet and a vertical reach of more than 10 feet.  It features the same mounting plate as the Brokk 50 it replaces, so all the same attachments – breakers, crushers, buckets and grapples – are compatible.
