Clinkenbeard, a manufacturer that of precision-machined parts, “rapid castings,” casting patterns, and prototypes, has relocated from Rockford to South Beloit, IL, to a new plant that it noted its twice as large as the former location. The new, 40,000-square-foot plant "includes space for engineering, machining, a mechanical mockup build shop, and a foundry pattern shop," according to an announcement.
The new plant also includes a DMG Mori Seiki, five-axis turning center.
Clinkenbeard was established in 1966 as a foundry pattern shop, later adopting foundry tooling production, casting of ferrous and aluminum alloys (particularly for aerospace parts), and CNC machining. Today, specializes in "rapid casting" of complex parts for defense, aerospace, automotive, truck and engine, power generation, and industrial castings, from CAD design through finish machining. "Our tooling-less metal casting process produces metalcastings efficiently, affordably, and extremely fast," according to a statement.
