With combination of The ExOne Co. and voxeljet AG, ExOne Global Holdings has started manufacturing its Spectra Mono-Z printhead at their now combined location in Canton Township, MI. The group also has established local parts inventory in the Detroit area, and other maintenance and support services for operators of ExOne and voxeljet additive manufacturing systems.
The Spectra Mono-Z is a high-precision, industrial inkjet component designed by ExOne for use in is S-Max series of binder jetting 3D printers. It is primarily used for selective deposition of liquid binder onto powder metal, ceramic, or sand to form 3D-printed components.
ExOne’s S-Max industrial 3D printer is a large-format additive manufacturing system for high-speed binder jetting, for metal and ceramic parts, as well as sand cores and molds for metalcasting.
Voxeljet began operating a Michigan service center in 2015 to offer on-demand additive manufacturing for 3D-printed molds and models. The location now operates S-Max and voxeljet VX4000 printer - reported to be thew world’s largest 3D printing system for sand molds with a worktable measuring 4x2x1 meters.
In addition to producing the printheads, ExOne Global committed to build a regional parts inventory for current customer demand and scalable as its base of installations expands, to lower spare-part and consumables lead times for U.S. operators.
The group also plans an “annually refreshed price list” to include tariffs and freight charges to the Detroit area; and an updated three-tier (Essentials, Recommended, and Enterprise) maintenance program, for producers with different requirements.
ExOne Global also established free 24/7 phone support for all customers.
"These updates are a direct response to recent customer feedback around domestic supply, expedited parts access, predictable pricing, and support they can count on," stated ExOne Global Holdings’ Mike Dougherty, Managing Director of Americas. "Initiating printhead production in Detroit is the first step in our broader U.S. manufacturing buildout, and it reflects the long-term commitment we're making to our customers and to American industrial infrastructure."
