Humtown CEO Honored as SBA Owner of the Year

The Ohio manufacturer of sand molds and cores earned the top award from the U.S. Small Business Administration, recognizing performance and progress.

Humtown Products president and chief executive officer Mark Lamoncha was named the 2026 Small Business Owner of the Year during the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Small Business Summit. The award was presented by President Donald Trump and SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler at a White House event on May 4.

In his presentation of the award, President Trump congratulated Lamoncha and praised Humtown’s accomplishments as a manufacturer of patterns and a leading developer of industrial 3D sand printing.

“I would like to thank you for the opportunity and the privilege to represent the 36 million small business people, to be an ambassador for the largest part of our economy,” Lamoncha said in his remarks.

The family-owned company has been supplying patterns, molds, and cores to foundries for over 60 years. Under Mark Lamoncha, Humtown Products has grown into a global supplier of conventional and 3D-printed sand cores and molds.

Prior to the Small Business Summit, Lamoncha had been selected as the Ohio Small Business Person of the Year, one of 53 individuals for each state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam to be so honored by the SBA.

In addition to his work with Humtown Products, Lamoncha is a member of the Ohio State Board of Education; president of the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition; and a board member of the Ohio Manufactures Association and the Youngstown State University STEM Advisory Board.

The SBA’s National Small Business Week Summit is an annual event incorporating educational workshops, expert mentoring, and networking designed to help entrepreneurs with capital access, AI tools, and growth strategies.

“Small businesses are big business for America,” he stated upon earning the Ohio Small Business Person of the Year Award. “We largely drive America’s employment and the prosperity of our local economies.

“I’m honored to accept this award on behalf of all Ohio small business owners who innovate, work hard to grow their companies and create opportunity for their fellow Ohioans.”
