SAINT-GOBAIN ABRASIVES introduced the Norton BlazeX F980 fiber discs with a premium ceramic-alumina, micro-fracturing grain for grinding in stainless steel and harder-to-grind materials. New, proprietary Cool Friction technology dissipates heat during grinding, reducing rework and extending the performance life of Norton BlazeX F980 fiber discs.
Norton BlazeX F980 fiber discs are suitable for stock removal, deburring, beveling, blending, cleaning/detailing, and finishing in metalcasting operations. Other industrial applications include MRO, metal fabrication, welding, oil-and-gas, energy, and shipbuilding.
In addition, a self-lubricating grinding aid treatment and active filler contribute to producing cool cuts. Its micro-fracturing grain consistently exposes sharper grain edges to deliver a better cut rate and longer disc life when compared to blended ceramic alumina discs.

BlazeX F980 Fiber Discs are offered in 36 grit and are available in a standard 7/8-in. hole pattern fitting most angle grinders, and in the most popular sizes for any application.
The Speed-Change BlazeX F980 fiber disc version features the Norton quick, tool-free, twist-on/off Speed-Change fastener. Discs lock to standard back-up pads with a unique nut design and are easily removed, increasing productivity with more time to grind.
