TRENER ROBOTICS's Acteris system is a new interface program for CNC machines and other robots that allows human users to issue instructions with natural conversation interpreted by a large language model. In a statement, Trener said that while the company’s first focus for the platform relates to CNC machine-tending, the program can identify parts and handling, optimize robotic motion, react to changes, avoid collisions and provide real-time production dashboards.
As of press time, Trener Robotics says Acteris is directly compatible with robots built by ABB, Universal Robots, and FANUC.
In a statement, Asad Tirmizi, Trener Robotics CEO, said the program has the potential to dramatically alter how employees work with robotic systems.
“Our go-to-market strategy is to empower system integrators and OEMs with a robot AI skills platform for deploying and controlling robots across diverse industrial environments,” Tirmizi said. “This approach transforms one-off integrator projects into repeatable, scalable solutions designed for speed, consistency and predictability.”
