June 1, 2006 — Applied Manufacturing Technologies Inc. is reorganizing its engineering group into four new engineering practice areas as a measure to improve responsiveness to customer requests. The new areas are: Robot Programming, Digital Processing and Simulation, Design Services: mechanical and electrical, and Advanced Applications.
AMT, Orion, MI, supplies factory automation design, engineering and process consulting services. “Our customers have asked us to expand beyond our traditional services,” said COO Joseph Campbell. “These four practice areas are in direct alignment with our customer’s project flow, and will allow us to respond faster to customer requests for professional services in all project phases.”
AMT’s Robot Programming group will provide professional robot programming and start up services for all major process robots, including ABB, Fanuc, Kawasaki, KUKA, Motoman, Nachi, and Staubli.
The Digital Processing and Simulation group will provide processing and simulation development with services for all major robot models, human models, and simulation engines involving robotic, ergonomic, and discrete-event simulation.
The Design Services group will provide 2D and 3D mechanical design on all major CAD platforms, and electrical and controls design, startup and support on all major PLC and logic controller brands.
The Advanced Applications group will support laser scanning, industrial networking, machine vision, custom MMI / GUI interface development and simulation and robot support for painting applications.
