Dotson Iron Castings in Mankato, MN, announced an expansion and modernization program of its Mankato, MN, plant, an effort to positively frame the outlook for the business, its employees, and the community where it has operated for more than 100 years. “In the state of the world we want our team to know we are focused on our future,” according to vice president Liz Ulman in an announcement of the project.
The improvements will include more meeting spaces; reconfigured office spaces for teams; new employee locker rooms and restrooms; private changing and shower spaces; common areas for breaks, celebrations, and events; a rooftop venue for outdoor events, including team-building programs.
The foundry explained the changes will create new cross-functional areas for teams to gather; more private space for team members; indoor and outdoor gathering places; and areas for hosting events for customers, community members, and others.
Dotson did not indicate its budget or schedule for the expansion but noted that work will begin in Spring 2021.
