Ohio-based General Die Casters Inc. is merging with Dart Casting Inc., Alsip, IL, with common ownership and shareholders comprised of the two businesses’ current management teams – but retaining their distinct brands. The financial terms of the consolidation were not reported.
General Die Casters operates two plants in Peninsula and Twinsburg, OH, producing complex aluminum and zinc diecastings, with CNC machining capabilities.
Dart Casting is an aluminum diecasting operation. Together, the three plants offer 41 pressure diecasting machines ranging from 400 to 1,200 tons, and 28 CNC machines. “The merger creates the ability to leverage each companies’ capabilities and customer base to continue a trajectory of growth,” according to the announcement.
General Die Casters CEO Brian Lennon will head the combined organization as chief executive officer, and as a shareholder. Each company’s management teams and “key contacts” will remain the same.
Lennon stated: “The combined talents and capabilities of General Die Casters and Dart Casting positions our organization to take advantage of the tremendous growth expected in the domestic high pressure die casting market.”
Dart Casting chief financial officer/president Tim Foley will be the CFO of the combined organization.
Additionally, George Nijmeh will lead the Dart Casting team as Dart Vice President of Operations. Mark Wolny will continue as a stakeholder in the business his family founded in 1994, as Director of Purchasing and Special Projects. Keith Kish will become Vice President of Quality and Engineering for both organizations.
