Sigma Electric Mfg. Buys Avalon

Investment caster acquired by global casting/precision machining group

Sigma Electric Manufacturing Corp. has purchased Avalon Precision Casting Co., a combination of casting manufacturers that “will add value for our combined customer base, as together we create a more comprehensive product and service offering,” according to Sigma president and CEO Viren Joshi.

The terms of the acquisition were not announced.

Sigma Electric Manufacturing, Garner, NC, manufactures precision machined ferrous and nonferrous castings at 12 locations in India and Mexico, as well as a delivery center in North Carolina.

Avalon Precision Casting is a Cleveland-based investment casting group with four plants in Ohio and Wisconsin.

According to an announcement, the combination of investment castings capabilities with global, casting and precision machining capabilities "brings significant product sourcing, supply-chain management, and scale opportunities to each company’s customer base."
