This course provides first-time students and those looking to refresh their skills the safety information they need to maintain a safe workplace. A panel of speakers will address key safety issues including: molten metal safety, scrap handling and charging, casting operations, dross handling, furnace safety, protective clothing and equipment, training and incident investigation, and combustion system safety. The workshop will also include videotapes of plant incidents for discussion. In addition, each facility in attendance will be asked to share information on current PPE Practices and DC Pit Guarding during the ‘company experiences’ session.
