Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Co. is acquiring Bingham & Taylor in a move that expands its portfolio of plumbing products to include underground infrastructure products for water and gas utilities.
The value of the private transaction - officially, a purchase by Charlotte Pipe and its wholly owned subsidiary Neenah Foundry Co. – was not announced.
The combination is expected to allow Charlotte Pipe to expand its activity in the markets for water and gas infrastructure and distribution products. The Bingham & Taylor product portfolio includes meter and valve access products, including boxes, lids, and pits.
Bingham & Taylor operates a gray iron foundry in Culpeper, VA, and plastic injection-molding and blow-molding plants in Fredericksburg, VA. It also has a network of regional and nationwide distribution partners .
“The acquisition combines Bingham & Taylor's established brand reputation and wide distribution network with Charlotte Pipe's manufacturing expertise and Neenah Foundry's waterworks market presence,” according to an announcement statement. “Bingham & Taylor will continue to operate under its well-known brand name while benefiting from expanded resources and capabilities,” it added.
